'From Gaza with Love' is an uplifting dance night to raise much needed funds and support for the 1.8 million Gazans trapped by the 12 year illegal Israeli blockade
They need our love as never before
In 2015 the UN predicted Gaza would be uninhabitable by 2020 and that time is now upon us. Israel's brutal 12 year siege and blockade by land, sea and air has devastated every sector and every aspect of life in the Gaza strip.
97% of aquifer water is undrinkable
46% of essential drugs and medicines are unavailable
Over 50% of the population is unemployed
Gazans suffer chronic shortages of water, medicine, fuel, electricity, and food, with 80% of the population relying on foreign aid to survive. On top of this there are frequent bombing campaigns and incursions by the Israeli army.
Gaza is the world's largest open air prison
In March 2018, 'The Great March of Return' began. Thousands protested weekly at the Israeli barrier wall, demanding an end to the suffocating military siege and the right of return for Palestinian refugees. 70% of Gazans themselves are refugees, displaced during the Nakba in 1948. Since the demonstrations began, more than 330 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli forces and at least 31,000 people injured.
Your money will go to Medical Aid for Palestinians (MAP), a British charity supporting Palestinians in vital need of medical help.
Don't despair, show you care, come and dance for Gaza on 29 March!
From Gaza With Love Sunday, 29 March 2020 7-11pm (postponed)
