Vigil for Ahed Tamimi in Hastings

Good turnout for our vigil in solidarity with Palestinian schoolgirl Ahed Tamimi, with a steady stream of well-wishers, supporters and local people just wanting to know more. The action was in response to a last-minute call from a coalition of Palestinian organisations for international solidarity with Ahed on the day before her seventeenth birthday. As we were only able to give one day's notice to our members and contacts, the response was very encouraging. Article in the Hastings Online Times.

Ahed is still in military detention, with her trial date having been postponed several times. More background information about the fight-back by Ahed and the people of Nabi Saleh against the military occupation in our January newsletter..

So far one online petition calling for Ahed to be freed has received more than 1.7 million signatures: Free Ahed Tamimi. The latest 'Apartheid Adventures' video contribution to Ahed's arrest: Bullying Apartheid.

    Saturday information stalls in Hastings

We've run weekly information stalls in Hastings Town Centre opposite Lloyds Bank every Saturday 12.00 'til 14.00 (2 pm) since 2014. This winter we've decided to set up the stall depending on the weather prospects - when it's raining/sleeting/very cold very few people are around in the town centre! Each week we'll decide on the Friday whether to go ahead or not - 'phone number to ring to find out: 07854 486794. Back to normal in the Spring.

Please come along to say hello and support us: any amount of time is appreciated.
