Hastings and Rye Palestine Solidarity Campaign
Newsletter   13 June 2019

This weekend there are 2 local events - we hope that as many people as possible can attend and support:

Give Puma the Boot. International Day of Action Saturday 15 June 2019.

Please join our picket on Saturday 15 June 12.00 - 14.00 / 2pm outside Sports Direct.

We will be joining 20 countries across the world in the #BoycottPuma day of action. Over 25 groups are taking part in pickets and demonstrations outside Puma stores, offices, and stores which stock Puma.

Puma is the main sponsor of the Israel Football Association (IFA), which includes football clubs based in illegal Israeli settlements on stolen Palestinian land.
More than 200 Palestinian teams have called for Puma to end its support for Israel's military occupation by terminating its sponsorship deal with the IFA.

Send an email to UK football clubs with partnerships with Puma: UK Football Clubs - Give Puma the Boot.       More info (BDS website).       Our Facebook event page.

A letter to the German government.

The German government has recently passed a resolution that equates BDS with anti-Semitism. Sara Roy, whose father was the only holocaust survivor in his family, writes: "I know, without question, that if they were alive today, the motion you are being asked to endorse would terrify them given the repression of tolerance and witness that it clearly embraces."
