REPORT FROM AL-MAWASI: EVERY CHILD DESERVES ACCESS TO EDUCATION

Last week we were able to get through to Al-Mawasi through a Zoom call. Our friends confirmed that all schools remain closed; the children are being denied their right to education for a third year in a row. "We don't have books or stationery. There is no paper available in Gaza, or printers." The resilience committee wants to help volunteer teachers, to give them a small stipend, and provide some snacks for the children. From the reports we got on the call it's clear that the situation remains as bad as ever. Mass displacement orders are sending hundreds of thousands more people to Al-Mawasi from Gaza city, but there are no tents to buy at all.

"There isn't much to buy in the market and what they do have is very expensive. The aid trucks are looted before they reach us." There is no gas left so they only have wood to cook on for hot meals. The sense of exhaustion and despair among those we heard from was palpable. There was a positive note when we were told of the forthcoming wedding of a local couple later in the month. They are preparing for this as best that they can and are looking forward to it.

For a report of the meeting on Facebook and Instagram. The money is still getting through: please donate through PayPal. Other methods to pay can be found here.

PROTEST AT SITES SUPPLYING ISRAEL'S F-35 FIGHTER JETS: BAE SYSTEMS ROCHESTER

Wednesday 8 October 11am. BAE Systems Marconi Way, Rochester, Kent, ME1 2XX

Britain is an active participant in Israel's genocide in Palestine, including through its arms trade and military collaboration with Israel. One example is Britain's contribution to Israel's F-35 fighter jets, used to drop 2,000lb bombs on the Gaza Strip. At least 15% of the value of each of Israel's F-35 fighter jet is produced in the UK.

Wednesday 8 October is a day of action at Brough, Cheltenham, Havant, Rochester and Sheffield at sites involved in the F-35 fighter jet supply chain. The Rochester site produces the Active Interceptor System used by the F-35 pilot to control the fighter jet.

We hope to organise a system of car sharing to travel to Rochester. So we can coordinate this please email us.    More information.

NATIONAL MARCH FOR PALESTINE - END THE GENOCIDE

Saturday 11 October 12.00 noon. Central London.
Israel is continuing to intensify its genocide against Palestinians in Gaza, including by raining bombs down on Gaza City as part of its invasion and ethnic cleansing of the city. Famine has been declared throughout Gaza due to Israel's blockade. The British government remains deeply complicit in Israel's atrocities through its arms trade and military collaboration with Israel. More information. Catch the 10.31 Hastings train to London. If you would like help with the train fare or would like to donate a fare, please contact us We match donors with marchers.
